Opened in 1866, the 23 gauge Talyllyn Railway was the first narrow gauge line in the UK to operate steam-powered locomotives from the start, with predecessors having their origins in the horse-drawn wagon era. No.3, built by Falcon Works in Loughborough, originally started life on the Corris Railway before moving to the Talyllyn in the early 1950s, where today it hauls tourists along the 7.25-mile railway, now recognized as one of the UKs premier narrow gauge heritage lines.
The Bachmann Sir Haydn locomotive comes available in two prototypical paint variations, reflecting the strikingly different schemes worn over the course of its life. Scaled to HO/OO dimensions, the model will operate on standard N Scale or HOn30/OO9 narrow gauge track, and features die-cast metal construction with operating metal drivers.
Features include:
die-cast metal construction
highly detailed painted body with precision graphics
international-style hook-and-loop couplers
blackened machined metal wheels with metal drivers
