September marks 200 years since the first ever passenger service, on the Stockton & Darlington Railway in 1825. Bauer Medias three titles in the sector RAIL, Steam Railway and Model Rail are to produce a special souvenir edition to mark the auspicious bicentenary.

This collaborative first will trace the past, present and future of rail over three centuries. Lavishly illustrated over 228 pages, it will use fabulous pictures, extraordinary facts and amazing figures to tell the story of rail in a way its never been told before.

As well as rails glories, with all the key landmarks and events, it will also take some detours to shine a light into the secret corners and unexpected episodes in rails history, and take time out from the timeline to explore how it has shaped and continues to shape our home and work lives, the places around us and the future of world travel.
